Sarah Michels Bat Mitzvah May 4, 2013
May 25th, 2013
It was a beautiful Saturday morning in spring on May 4th 2013 when Sarah Michels became a Bat Mitzvah at Shri Ami. Sarah then took stand at the bema and read from the torah like she had been doing it her whole life. Watching with great pride, as Sarah became a Bat Mitzvah, were all of her close family and friends who have supported her in her long journey on becoming a women in the Jewish religion. Once the service was over everyone then headed home to relax and get ready for the night to come at Beat Street. As night began to fall all of Sarah’s close family and friends began to arrive at Beat Street as they were ready to party. As the guests began to pile in they were greeted with large white drapes all around the room as well as wonderful pictures of Sarah. Once everyone started to settle in it was time to enjoy a fun filled cocktail hour. The adults then got to enjoy some food and mingle with friends and the kids got to enjoy some fun games as well. As the cocktail hour came to a close all the guests then began to pack onto the dance floor, as they were ready to party. Dylan from Flare Entertainment had everyone form one large circle on the dance floor and dance to the beat of the music, as they were ready to bring the family into the room. Dylan then called Sarah’s name and as the beat began to drop Sarah ran down the steps and into the crowd, as she was ready to party on her special day. Once everyone was introduced into the room the candle lighting ceremony began. Sarah then called up all of her close family and friends one by one to light a candle in her honor. Once all the candles were lit Sarah closed her eyes and made a wish as she began to blow out the candles on her cake.As the smoke began to clear, the hora began to play and all the guests packed back onto the dance floor and formed two large circles around the Michels family and danced in their honor. After the hora the guests returned to their seats one last time, as they were ready to enjoy their delicious dinner. Let the celebration begin! Dylan had everyone on the dance floor from start to finish. The kids and adults both enjoyed some fun dance sets as well as games. As evening began to come to a close all the guests formed one large circle on the dance floor. The last song of the night began to play and Sarah went around and thanked everyone for coming to her party. She then grabbed the microphone and began to sing “Don’t Stop Belivin” with her sister as the party drew to an end. We want to thank the Michels family for letting Hy Paul Studio be apart of Sarah’s Bat Mitzvah.
